In Victoria, all children have access to a quality early childhood education program for 15 hours a week in the year before they start school, to assist them to get ready to attend school the following year.

4-year-old kindergarten is Government funded. Government funding helps to keep the fees associated with attending the kindergarten affordable to families. In order to be eligible for a funded position the child must be 4 years of age by the 30th of April in the year they attend. (It is possible to defer entry until the following year).

The Government’s No Jab No Play laws require all children's to be age-appropriately immunised before enrollment can be confirmed.
Parents/guardians offered tentative places will be asked to provide immunisation documentation to Great Start Kindergarten within 2 weeks of letter of offer that shows that their child's immunisations are up to date for their age or that an exemption applies.

Fee relief is available to families holding a current Health Care or Pensioner Concession Card. Full details are available on request.
